Daily Prayer
Mar 01, 2022This is a daily prayer that we do together and wanted to share it with you. Hope you find it impactful in your relationship with each other and prayer life.
DAILY PRAYER
Husband: Today is all God has promised.
Wife: Therefore, let us not take for granted the commitment of our life together. [Pause, reflect]
Husband: God may our hearts be ever seeking you. God, in your Trinity, you show the perfect example of unity, love, peace and happiness. Let your love burn away our imperfections.
Wife: Lord, today we pray for a oneness that is a perfect picture of the Trinity together. Lord, we confess we are weak. We are jealous. We’re easily hurt. We are petty. We are embittered. We store up wrongs. We are insecure. We hurt one another. We do not deal with our own confession well. We fail to love as you have loved us together. Forgive us for our sins this day. [Pause; reflect; ask for forgiveness if this needs to happen between you and God and/or you and each other.]
Husband: I am not strong enough to be a husband to you.
Wife: And I am not strong enough to be a wife to you.
Together: God give us the strength for our marriage today. [Hold hands]
Together: God give us the strength and the grace that only comes from you that we might live and breathe this grace to each other from this moment forward. Without your grace, Father, our marriage will wither and die; but with and through your grace, it will flourish and grow.
Husband: Forgive us. Forgive us our faults and our sins against each other. God renew our hearts for you and each other.
Wife: Lord make right all the wrongs we have done, our selfishness, our thoughtlessness, our inconsistencies. Draw us near again, closer to your heart in love, forgiveness, peace, commitment, and happiness.
Together: May we in full unity of heart, mind, soul, and purpose go forward together side by side. May we from this moment forward go in solidarity, delight, and appreciation for sharing this life with the one who is on this journey with me, for a hand to hold, the one to hug, and the lips to kiss at the close of the day.
Husband: May we love each other more today than we did yesterday.
Wife: May we treasure each other more today than we did last month.
Husband: May I love you deeper today than I did at the beginning of this month.
Wife: May we, in our friendship, serve and support each other more than ever before.
Husband: May we reflect the love and commitment of Jesus Christ more clearly today than the day of our wedding
Together: God bless our marriage commitment. Ignite our desire for one another. Show us how to be best friends and lovers. May this marriage be so bright it brings hope and light and blessing to others. We ask all this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
